Woking Leisure Centre will benefit from a £1.2 million refurbishment, following its recent takeover in management, by award-winning leisure operator, Everyone Active.

Works to upgrade the fitness facilities at the popular leisure centre will start in early March 2026 and are set to be completed by early April 2026.

The centre, which is managed by Everyone Active on behalf of Woking Borough Council, will see a wide range of improvements, designed to meet the needs of the local community.

The improved facilities will include an upgraded gym area, offering the very latest in state-of-the-art Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment, alongside a new look and feel to create a fresh and modernised space.

New gym equipment will include additional squat racks and benches, catering for the increase in demand for this type of training. Both the functional and cardio areas will also benefit from new equipment, such as treadmills and Watt bikes, alongside a range of new functional fitness equipment delivering against the new and growing ‘Hyrox’ trend.

A brand-new fascial stimulator will also be introduced as part of the gym refurbishment – designed to deeply massage and stimulate the body’s connective tissue to improve circulation, reduce muscle tension, increase flexibility, and speed up recovery.

In addition, the centre’s group exercise studios will be fully refurbished, alongside the group cycling studio, which will feature brand-new Keiser bikes in a modernised space with upgraded lighting and sound systems. Virtual spin will also be introduced alongside Les Mills, offering a wider variety of cycling sessions.

During the refurbishment period, members will be given access to nearby gym facilities, including Woking Sportsbox and Eastwood Leisure Centre.

“The investment will deliver a new and improved centre, with significant upgrades to the gym, group exercise and spin studios, enabling us to support even more members of the community.

“This is the first step in a wider programme of improvements, with more exciting plans in the pipeline coming later this year.”
