Up to 200 wraps of crack-cocaine and heroin seized with two arrested in Stockport morning raid

Two people were arrested and more than 150 wraps of suspected Class A drugs seized following a warrant in Stockport this morning.

Shortly before 6am this morning (27 October), officers from our problem-solving Operation Vulcan team conducted a warrant on Buxton Road, Stockport, as part of work tackling the supply of drugs in the Brinnington area.

An 18-year-old man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

Both remain in custody at this time for further questioning.

As part of the work, around 150-200 wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin recovered, in addition to a Surron, a large quantity of cash, drug paraphernalia, and mobile phones.

A pocket-knife and a machete were also found during the subsequent house search.

Operation Vulcan has been operating in the Brinnington area since February, and has secured more than a hundred arrests, in addition to countless charges, drug recoveries, and weapon seizures.

This latest action comes as part of the team’s commitment to reducing the supply of harmful drugs on the streets of Brinnington and its surrounding areas.

Sergeant Oli Cooper, from the Operation Vulcan team, said: “The Vulcan team has been operating in the area for eight months now, but we are not slowing in our efforts. Today’s results have provided significant disruption to criminality in the area, reminding them that we are constantly working and acting on intelligence.

“We have recovered thousands in harmful and illicit substances, as well as numerous other items. Getting deadly weapons out of irresponsible hands is always a positive outcome too.

“If you are in Brinnington, our message is very clear: we are there for you, and will do what we can to help you with any issues you may have.”
