Fareham Borough Council is proud to announce that Cremer Mall, located on West Street in Fareham, will be illuminated in Gold throughout September in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

This global initiative is dedicated to raising awareness and support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. By lighting up Cremer Mall in gold, the official colour of Childhood Cancer Awareness, Fareham joins communities around the world in honouring the courage of young patients and their families, and in advocating for increased research, support, and public understanding.

Organisations such as Children with Cancer UK, Neuroblastoma UK, and the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group (CCLG) play a vital role in this movement, working tirelessly to improve outcomes and provide hope for children facing cancer.

Locally, Sophie’s Legacy, continues to be a beacon of support and advocacy for childhood cancer awareness. The charity’s work in memory of Sophie has inspired many and brought much-needed attention to the challenges faced by families in our community.

Executive Leader of Fareham Borough Council, Councillor Simon Martin said: “The Council are honoured to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by lighting up Cremer Mall in gold. This symbolic gesture reflects our commitment to standing with families affected by childhood cancer and supporting the incredible work of charities both locally and nationally.”
