Wiltshire Council continues its Adult Social Care Roadshows next week, offering residents the chance to drop in, explore support options, experience technology-enabled care, and share feedback to help shape future services.

The council is holding two more roadshow events at Melksham and Tidworth on Tuesday 16 September and Thursday 18 September respectively.

The events offer people the opportunity to:

  • Discover the range of support and services available through Adult Social Care (ASC)
  • Try out aids and technology-enabled care designed to help people live independently for longer, including support from the Wiltshire Council Hearing and Vision Team, Medequip, and Occupational Therapy
  • Speak with the Wiltshire Council Reablement Team
  • Learn about support for unpaid carers from Carers Together Wiltshire
  • Understand how prevention and wellbeing are central to Wiltshire’s approach to care
  • Share personal experiences and insights to help shape the future of adult social care in the county
  • Discuss individual circumstances with Wiltshire Council staff

Roadshow events have taken place in Chippenham and Salisbury and next week they are at the following venues and people can drop in at any time:

  • Tuesday 16 September from 1pm – 3pm at Melksham Community Campus
  • Thursday 18 September from 10am – 12noon at Tidworth Leisure Centre

For those who cannot make the face to face events there will be a webinar on Tuesday 7 October from 6pm and people who would like to join can sign up here Adult Social care webinar. People can also use the link to send in questions ahead of the webinar

The events follow the recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessment of Good for Wiltshire, and is part of the council’s commitment to transparency, learning, and continuous improvement.

Cllr Gordon King, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed speaking to residents at the roadshows we’ve had, hearing personal stories and giving them the opportunity to find out a lot of information in one place.

“For anyone who wants more information about adult social care, be that staying independent in your own home, finding out information for family and friends or just talking about support available for unpaid carers, this is an ideal way to find out that information. While we have the face-to-face events, I’d encourage those who can’t join or simply want to find out more to sign up for our webinar where we’ll have more information and be able to answer questions.”
