Officers seized a large knife and arrested a teenager following a proactive stop in Basingstoke last night.

During a patrol, a young man was seen acting suspiciously while riding a bicycle near Brighton Hill Roundabout at around 6pm on 25 September.

He was stopped on Wavell Close and a large knife was located in his waistband. The knife was seized by officers.

An 18-year-old man from Basingstoke was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife blade / sharp pointed article in a public place.

He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
