Cult favourite singer-songwriter Holly Golightly returns with a brand-new studio album, Look Like Trouble, due for release on October 17, 2025. Featuring ten original songs, the record showcases Holly’s distinctive voice, sharp wit, and her trademark blend of folk, blues, and stripped-down rock & roll.

Known for her unfiltered honesty and emotional nuance, Look Like Trouble captures the full arc of life’s ups and downs — from the sweet to the sour, the heartfelt to the hilariously blunt.

“‘Black Tongue’ is a melodic hex,” says Holly. “Feel free to use it — it works!”

Another standout track, “It’s All”, offers a touching tribute.

“This one is a memorial song,” she explains. “It’s for several old friends — a contribution to funerals I couldn’t attend.”

Of course, no Holly Golightly album would be complete without a healthy dose of irreverence and razor-sharp commentary.

“Miss Fortune is a blunt advisory number for those without a lick of sense,” Holly adds with a grin.

To balance the darker tones, tracks like “Rolling Along” offer light and hope.

“It’s an upbeat ditty of encouragement,” she says. “We’re all rolling along — one way or another.”

Yes — that is her real name.

Holly Golightly began her music career in 1991 as a founding member of the all-girl garage band Thee Headcoatees, a splinter group of Billy Childish’s Thee Headcoats. By 1995, she had launched a solo career with her debut album The Good Things, marking the beginning of a prolific and consistently impressive body of work.

Her solo sound blends pre-rock electric blues, folk, and lo-fi rock & roll — often delivered with a droll smile and uncompromising lyrical perspective. Across the years, she’s collaborated with the likes of Billy Childish, Dan Melchior, The White Stripes, and Lawyer Dave (as Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs), producing dozens of albums and EPs while remaining fiercely independent.

She recorded the cult classic duet “It’s True That We Love One Another” with Jack White on The White Stripes’ Grammy-winning album Elephant, and her track “Tell Me Now So I Know” was handpicked by Jim Jarmusch for the opening credits of his 2005 film Broken Flowers.
