Man charged with murder following fatal stabbing in Camden
A man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing in Camden.
Dwight Merrick, 35 (07.04.90) of Hanson Close, Beckenham, was charged with murder, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of a bladed article. He was also charged with common assault relating to an incident earlier in the day.
He appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 3 October, where he was remanded to next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 7 October.
Police were called at 15:29hrs on Saturday, 27 September to Camden Gardens, NW1 following reports of a stabbing.
Met officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a 44-year-old man for stab wounds before taking him to hospital, but despite the best efforts of the emergency services, he sadly died.
He has since been named as 44-year-old Shaun Latimer-Kayser from Camden. His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
A 47-year-old man from north west London was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday, 29 September. He has been released on bail.
