Man charged following serious assault in Portsmouth
A man has been charged following a serious assault in Portsmouth.
At 3.35pm on Friday 7 November, officers were called to a report of a stabbing on Tangier Road.
Two men, age 39 and 46, suffered face and head injuries.
James Wallis, 39, of Milton Road in Portsmouth has been charged with the following offences:
- Wounding with intent
- Possess a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place
- Possess an offensive weapon in a public place
- Assault by beating of an emergency worker
He has been remanded into custody to appear today (Monday 10 November) at Portsmouth Magistrates Court.
A 44-year-old woman from Portsmouth who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been conditionally bailed until 7 February whilst enquiries continue.
A 46-year-old man from Portsmouth who was arrested on suspicion of affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place has been released with no further action.
