Adam Bench jailed for rape and numerous child sexual offences – Windsor
Following a joint investigation by Thames Valley Police and the Metropolitan Police, a man has been sentenced for rape and numerous child sexual offences in Windsor and West Drayton.
Adam Bench, aged 47, of Stanwell, Staines Upon Thames, was sentenced to 18 years in prison with an extended license of four years, at a hearing at Reading Crown Court on 21 November.
Following an eight-day trial at the same court, which concluded on 17 September, a jury unanimously found Bench guilty of:
- Seven counts of sexual activity with a female child under the age of 16
- Six counts of sexual assault of a female child under 13
- Four counts of rape of a female over the age of 16
- Two counts of assault of a female child under 13 by penetration
- One count of inciting a female child under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity.
Bench was acquitted of one count of inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Between 2010 to 2022, in West Drayton, Bench committed multiple sexual offences against children. He was arrested by the Metropolitan Police on 17 December 2022.
Later, between September 2024 and December 2024, Bench sexually assaulted a child on multiple occasions in Windsor. He was arrested on 6 December 2024 and charged with the offences the following day.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Danielle Baker of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: “I would firstly like to commend the victims’ bravery in coming forward in relation to this abuse.
“They have showed immense courage throughout this investigation and DC Milsom, DC Lawrence and I would like to thank them for their support throughout.
“The impact that Adam Bench has had on the victims and their families is huge and no amount of punishment for Bench will ever be enough.
“The length of this sentence shows the severity of his actions, and he will have many years in custody to think about the damage that he has caused
“This investigation has had its challenges. However, a successful partnership between CAIU Windsor and DC Lawrence from the Child Protection Team for the Metropolitan Police meant a joint investigation could be completed.
“Bench’s offending began 15 years ago but this investigation will hopefully show other victims who are currently experiencing or have experienced abuse in the past, that lengthy sentences are possible.
“Thames Valley Police will listen and support you and we will do everything we can to bring offenders to justice.”
