Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for rape and numerous sexual offences in Wokingham.

Brandon Brenner, aged 22, of Honey Hill, Wokingham, was sentenced to ten years and eight months’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court on Friday (28/11).

Following an eight-day trial at the same court, which concluded on 11 August, a jury unanimously found Brenner guilty of:

  • Two counts of rape
  • One count of sexual assault

Brenner pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Brenner was found not guilty by unanimous verdict for two counts of rape and one count of sexual assault against the same victim that happened between 28 November and 2 December last year.

Between 14 November and 17 November last year, Brenner persuaded his victim, a 17-year-old girl, to meet him at a hotel in Wokingham after posing online as a fictitious female character in order to befriend the victim.

Brenner was arrested on 5 February this year and charged with the offences on 8 February.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Helen Lord, said: “The victim in this case has shown immense bravery throughout this investigation and we thank her for her continued support.

“Brenner’s conviction is a testament to the commitment of Thames Valley Police to bring to justice sexual offenders and to make our streets a safe place for everyone.

“It is also the result of the work of dozens of police officers and staff, along with our colleagues in the Crown Prosecution Service and prosecution counsel at trial.

“We will continue to listen and support complaints of such offences and work relentlessly against those who think it is acceptable to perpetuate any form of violence against women and girls.”
