Man, 35, arrested after officers find 45 bags of suspected Class A drugs in Old Basing
A man has been arrested after officers located 45 bags of suspected cocaine during a proactive stop in Old Basing last night.
Officers were on patrol when they spotted suspicious activity linked to a silver BMW on London Road at around 9.30pm on Thursday 15 January.
The vehicle was stopped on Crabtree Way and officers located a claw hammer, almost £1,000 in cash and 45 bags of suspected cocaine.
The driver also failed a drug wipe test and was arrested at the scene. All items, including the vehicle, were seized.
A 35-year-old man, of no fixed abode, has been arrested on suspicion of:
- Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A
- Possessing an offensive weapon in a public place
- Drive a vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit
- Drive a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs
- Drive a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence
- Use a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance
He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
