As part of Hampshire Police investigation into the death of a woman following an assault at an address in Bitterne, they have now charged a man with murder.

Officers attended an address in Harcourt Road just after 7.30pm on Monday 29 December, where Lisa-Marie Hopkins was found with a serious head injury.

The 34-year-old was taken to hospital, but she sadly subsequently died several days later.

Kevin Pead, 45, of The Avenue, Southampton, was previously charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody, after appearing at court.

Following consultation with the CPS, he has now been charged with murder after appearing at Southampton Crown Court today (20 January).

He will next appear at court on Thursday 19 February
