Man charged with murder following death of 84-year-old woman
A man has been charged with murder following the death of an 84-year-old woman in Plumstead.
Officers were called to Red Lion Place at 08:50hrs on Wednesday, 1 April following reports of a man in possession of a knife.
Police attended with the London Ambulance Service and located a woman with serious injuries. The victim was taken to hospital where she sadly died.
She has since been named as Doris Innes, 84 from Plumstead. Her family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
An investigation was launched, with officers identifying two further victims who were threatened with a knife close to the scene. They did not receive any injuries.
A 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation shortly after 09:10hrs on Wednesday, 1 April.
Giorgio Pin, 62 (29.01.1964) of Brookhill Road, Woolwich has since been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 4 April.
