Officers are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Winchester.

At some time between 7.50am and 8am on Tuesday, May 26 the victim, a 22-year-old woman, was walking in the alleyway between Fox Lane and Stanmore Lane when she was approached by a man. He persistently asked her questions, hugged her and sniffed her neck.

The man police want to speak to is described as: mixed race, aged 20 to 30, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins, of medium / muscular build, with dark brown curly hair. He spoke with a European accent.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time who may have information to assist the investigation.
