Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a high-value burglary in Bognor.

The incident in The Arcade is believed to have happened at about 2.15am on Tuesday, 11 November.

Two men are believed to have forced entry into the premises and activated an intruder alarm inside a jewellery shop.

Items worth thousands of pounds were stolen before the suspects left the area.

A vehicle, a black Range Rover Evoque, was later found set alight near the A29 at Slindon that is believed to be linked to the theft.

Inspector David Bulger said: “This was a high value theft from a jewellery shop in the town centre.

“Thieves forced entry into The Arcade via the High Street, but damage was also caused at the entrance in Belmont Street.

“We are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area with relevant information such as CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone or dashcam footage to come forward.

“Officers remain at the scene while this matter is investigated. We understand this may cause some inconvenience to adjacent businesses but we appreciate their cooperation and patience while we complete our enquiries.”

Information can be reported to Sussex Police online quoting serial 71 of 11/11.
