Appeal for witnesses following attempted murder – Oxford

Thames Valley Police officers is currently at the scene of an assault in Oxford.

Just after 1.05pm today (26/11), a man in his twenties was assaulted inside a building in St Aldates Courtyard. He sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital at this time.

A 27-year-old man from Oxford has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody.

Lead investigating officer, Detective Inspector George Atkinson, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident earlier today, particularly if you have any information, CCTV or mobile phone footage that could assist our investigation.

“Officers have attended and an arrest has been made. At this time, there is no indication of any ongoing risk to the public, and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this matter.

“Members of the public may notice a visible police presence as we continue our enquiries.”
