Appeal for witnesses following racially aggravated assault in Winchester
Hampshire and Isle Of Wight Constabulary are appealing for witnesses following a report of racially aggravated assault on Wednesday 7 May.
The incident, which occurred between 8pm and 8.30pm, took place on a Stagecoach bus (number three) between Winchester town centre and Waitrose, Stockbridge Road, Harestock.
The victim, aged in his 20s, was physically and verbally abused, leaving him with injuries to the face.
We are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling on the bus in question at the time of the incident.

As part of officers’ ongoing investigation, two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
A 21-year-old man and 42-year-old woman, both from Winchester, were arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Both have since been released on conditional bail, pending further enquiries.
