Countdown to the reopening of Trowbridge’s Old Town Hall

Last Updated: October 23, 2025By

The countdown has started! In just a few days the newly refurbished Old Town Hall in the centre of Trowbridge will reopen its doors, inviting the community to rediscover one of the town’s most iconic buildings.

On Saturday 25 October from 10.30am to 10.30pm the Old Town Hall will host a day-long celebration packed with art, music, food and community spirit. Visitors can explore the brand new café, enjoy the launch of the 5th annual Open Exhibition and experience the building’s transformation into a vibrant cultural hub.

While the fit-out of the Great Hall is still underway, it is on track to host concerts and performances towards the end of this year, adding even more to the building’s exciting future.

Cllr Ian Thorn, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: “To be able to open the doors and welcome people in to see for themselves the transformation of the building will be a very special moment. We hope as many people as possible will be able to come along on Saturday to celebrate the reopening of this much-cherished building and the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Trowbridge.”

Cllr Mel Jacob, Leader of Trowbridge Town Council, added: “The Old Town Hall stands at the heart of Trowbridge’s regeneration and I’m thrilled that we are only days away from seeing it welcoming the community back inside. This magnificent facility provides a key role in reinvigorating Trowbridge’s daytime and night-time economy, and we hope local residents and visitors alike will become regular users of this building.

The building’s transformation is part of the £16 million investment through the Future High Streets Fund aimed at revitalising Trowbridge’s town centre and enhancing its cultural offer.
