Disiniblud announce Remix EP – due out December 5th
Currently in the midst of their North American headline tour, Disiniblud—the new duo project of Los Angeles-based artists Rachika Nayar and Nina Keith—announce a new remix EP following their critically acclaimed debut album, due out December 5th via Smugglers Way/Domino. Alongside the announcement, they are sharing a remix of “Blue Rags, Raging Wind” from New York City pianist and composer Kelly Moran alongside a live version of “Traces in the Window” accompanied by a video recorded at their recent New York Show. The EP also includes the previously released remix from Deafheaven’s Kerry McCoy, plus unreleased reworks from Baths, Cis Angel (a new alias of Nina Keith), The Field, and Daedelus.
Kelly Moran brings her signature imprint of attuned piano work and textural electronic composition to “Blue Rags, Raging Wind,” reimagining it as something both meditative and kinetic. On the remix, Kelly shares: “I’m honored to share my remix for Disiniblud as a longtime fan of Rachika and Nina’s music. I was working on this track earlier this year while obsessing over Koreless’s immaculate production on FKA Twigs’ album Eusexua, which inspired me to play around with chopping up the vocal samples in Disniblud’s track to create a glitchy and propulsive pattern. There are so many beautiful, rich textures in Disiniblud’s music and I wanted to stretch them out for the start of the track to allow the listener to sink into an oceanic abyss of ambience that eventually transmutes into pulsating, beautiful chaos.”
