Fareham Live celebrates first birthday!
Fareham Borough Council and Trafalgar Theatres are celebrating the one-year anniversary of the opening of Fareham Live.
Since its grand opening, Fareham Live has proven to be an incredibly successful theatre, showcasing world-class entertainment including national touring shows, comedy, music and much more.
With around 160,000 tickets sold in the first year, Fareham Live is kick-starting the Council’s plans for the regeneration of Fareham town centre. It was recognised as ‘Regeneration Project of the Year’ at the South Coast Property Awards 2025 and was even honoured with a royal visit by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community, Cllr Mrs Connie Hockley, said: “I find it hard to believe that Fareham Live has already been open for a year, but what a year it has been. The ticket sales alone provide tangible evidence that the venue is drawing people into Fareham and the venue will continue to play a vital role in our plans for the regeneration of our town centre. I would like to thank all the Council officers and our venue operators, Trafalgar Theatres, for their tireless hard work in making Fareham Live the success that it is.”
Fareham Live is not only a theatre. It was designed to be a community, arts and entertainment venue for all, so includes a number of spaces that can be hired and tailored to suit specific needs. These spaces range from the main auditorium which can comfortably accommodate over 200 people for corporate events, Christmas parties and big celebrations, right through to the Café and Bar areas for small community groups, societies or business meetings. Community rates are also available for registered charities and good causes.
One of the regular users of the community spaces at Fareham Live is the Fareham Rotary Club, which was originally formed in 1948. President of the Rotary Club, Malcolm Nicholls, said: “Fareham Rotary Club meets at Fareham Live from 12pm to 2pm on a Thursday and it’s a great way to socialise, do good in the community and raise money for charity. Fareham Live is an ideal location for our meetings as it is fully accessible, centrally located for our members and there is on-site parking.”
Ryan Grant, Everyone Active’s contract manager, added: “We provide a weekly Pilates class for all abilities at Fareham Live each Wednesday at 12.30pm. We’re really pleased to promote community health and wellbeing in this fantastic community space. No membership is required, and visitors can pay as they go.”
