Funding agreed for new CCTV cameras In Eastleigh
Sixteen new state-of-the-art CCTV cameras are expected to be fully operational across Eastleigh town centre by the end of March.
The upgrade follows the approval of £50,000 in funding from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The investment will allow the replacement of the current CCTV system, which has become outdated and is no longer fit for purpose.
The new cameras will provide improved coverage and enhanced technology, supporting police efforts to keep the town centre safe for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Council Leader Keith House said:
“The safety and wellbeing of residents and visitors is always a priority for the Borough Council.
“It is welcome news that the Police and Crime Commissioner has delivered funding for modern CCTV cameras. These will be a valuable asset in supporting the police’s lead role in community safety, an area we remain committed to supporting.”
