Get Cycling This Autumn with Free Skills Sessions in Eastleigh
Eastleigh Borough residents are being invited to boost their cycling confidence and skills this autumn through a series of free training sessions and events running throughout September and October.
The initiative, CycleTogether Eastleigh, is delivered in partnership with Sustrans, the national walking and cycling charity. The project aims to help people cycle more often, cycle more safely, and discover new routes across the Borough — while building a stronger, more supportive cycling community.
As part of the programme, residents can take part in:
-
Bike maintenance workshops
-
Road cycling skills training
-
Guidance on using child and pet trailers
-
Free local bike servicing
-
Led group rides around Eastleigh
The sessions are also supported by Hampshire County Council’s Life’s Better By Bike campaign, helping to raise awareness and encourage everyday cycling.
Cllr Tonia Craig, Cabinet Member for Health at Eastleigh Borough Council, said:
“These sessions were a real success over the summer, so we’re excited to offer even more this autumn. Whether you’re new to cycling, getting back in the saddle, or just looking to improve your confidence, there’s something for everyone. We hope residents take this opportunity to ride, learn and connect with others in the community.”
The CycleTogether Eastleigh programme is funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
