Hampshire’s GCSE students shine: Celebrating success and supporting futures

Last Updated: August 20, 2025By

As thousands of Hampshire students prepare to receive their GCSE and Level 2 results this Thursday, Hampshire County Council is celebrating the achievements of young people across the county – and standing ready to support those who are unsure of their next steps.

Councillor Steve Forster, Cabinet Member for Education, praised the resilience and dedication of Year 11 students: This is a proud moment for our young people, who’ve overcome the challenges of Covid lockdown at the very start of their secondary journeys in 2020. Whether they’re heading to sixth form, college, apprenticeships, or other training, their hard work deserves recognition. We also extend heartfelt thanks to the families, teachers, and tutors who’ve supported them every step of the way.

“Whether results meet or exceed expectations or bring surprises, Hampshire County Council is committed to helping every student find their path forward. We have in place expert guidance and a wealth of resources, so that no one has to navigate this transition alone.”

For students unsure about their next move, the Hampshire Futures Exam Results Helpline offers expert guidance from qualified careers advisers, to guide students through options including college applications, apprenticeships, and alternative pathways.
