Man, 34, arrested after officers find suspected Class A drugs in Basingstoke

Officers seized a car and arrested a man after they located suspected Class A drugs following a proactive stop in Basingstoke yesterday.

A Nissan Juke, which had been linked to drug supply offences, was stopped on Hatch Warren Way on Wednesday 3 September.

Due to suspicious circumstances, a search was carried out and officers located multiple bags of suspected Class A and Class B drugs and £195 in cash.

All items, including the Nissan Juke, were seized.

A 34-year-old man from Northfleet, Kent, was arrested on suspicion of:

  • Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A
  • Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B
  • Driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit
  • Driving while disqualified
  • Using a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance

He remains in custody while our enquiries continue.
