44-year-old man from Eastleigh has been charged following reports of a man following teenage girls in the town.

Gary Martyn White, 44, of Ruskin Road, has been charged with;

• two counts of committing an offence with the intention of committing a relevant sexual offence

• three counts of using threatening/abusive words/behaviour likely to cause harassment/alarm/distress

• one count of assaulting constable in the execution of duty

The charges follow multiple reports of a man following girls on Shakespeare Road and in the area of Boyatt Wood on Wednesday 8 April.

White faced the charges when he appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday (10 April).

He was remanded in custody to next appear at Southampton Crown Court on Wednesday 13 May.
