Man arrested after officers locate drugs during proactive stop in Winchester
A man has been arrested after officers located suspected Class A drugs following a proactive stop in Winchester yesterday.
Officers were on patrol when they noticed a Honda Civic which had previously been linked to drugs supply.
The vehicle was stopped on St Cross Road at around 1.30am on Monday 25 August and due to suspicious circumstances, a search was carried out.
Officers located seven bags of suspected cocaine, £260 in cash and a magnetic security tag remover. All items were seized.
A 25-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, acquiring / using / possessing criminal property and going equipped for theft.
He has been bailed with conditions to allow for further enquiries to be carried out.
