Officers investigating the murder of a 60-year-old woman in Andover have charged a man.

Officers were called at 8:26am on Saturday 8 March to reports of a serious assault at an address on Burkal Drive in Andover.

Anjela Chetty, from Andover, was sadly confirmed deceased at the scene.

A second woman in her 60s was also found with serious injuries.

Sashin Vishay Kumardew, 31, of Burkal Drive in Andover, has been charged with the following offences:

• Murder
• Attempted murder
• Two counts of possession of a Class A drug
• Possession of a Class B drug

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Basingstoke Magistrates Court on 28 August.
