Man found guilty of murder of woman in Havant
Today (Friday 27 March) a 49-year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of 45-year-old Frances Obiefuleh at an address in Havant in April 2025.
Officers were called at 9.42am on Thursday 17 April 2025 to a report that Norbert Maiksner of Timsbury Crescent in Havant was walking alone along the M40, close to Junction 3.
Officers were subsequently deployed to search an address at Timsbury Crescent and located Frances’ body.
Maiksner was subsequently arrested and charged with murder and an additional charge of child neglect. A trial has been underway at Portsmouth Crown Court since Monday 15 March in absentia as Maiksner refused to attend court or engage in the proceedings.
During his trial the court heard that Maiksner had told officers that he had killed Frances and stated that it was all a dream and that he wanted to wake up.
Today the jury found him guilty of murder and child neglect. He was remanded to be sentenced at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday 30 March.
