Man jailed after officers find cocaine and cash in Andover proactive stop
A man has been jailed for 40 months after officers seized more than 20 bags of Cocaine and £570 cash in Andover.
Officers were conducting targeted patrols in the King Arthurs Way area on December 12 2025 following reports of drug-related activity.
A grey Kia Optima was seen driving into Tintagel Close where a suspected drug deal took place.
The driver, Bruno Carvalho, 24, of no fixed abode in Andover, was detained for a search. Officers located 26 bags of Cocaine, £570 in cash, and a phone were seized.
During the search Carvalho became aggressive towards officers and needed to be restrained on the ground.
During the struggle, Carvalho managed to take an officer’s PAVA spray and deploy it at another officer. He also kicked a third officer in the shin causing bruising.
Carvalho was subsequently arrested and charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious gas, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, driving otherwise than in accordance with a license, and driving without insurance.
Appearing before Winchester Court today, 13 March, he was sentenced to 3 years and 4 months.
