Man jailed for supplying class A drugs – Slough
Following a Thames Valley Police Investigation, a man has been sentenced for supplying class A drugs in Slough.
At Reading Crown Court on Thursday (11/12), Sajmir Halilaj, aged 22, of Moreton Way, Slough, pleaded guilty to:
- One count of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, namely cocaine
- One count of driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a license
- One count of use of a motor vehicle without insurance
- One account of possession of criminal property
- One count of possession of an identity document with improper intention
Halilaj was sentenced to three years and six months’ imprisonment at the same court.
At around 5.30pm on 12 June this year, officers stopped Halilaj in a vehicle as he had no licence or insurance. Halilaj used a fake Slovakian driving licence in an attempt to evade capture.
Halilaj was detained and subsequently searched. Within his vehicle, 46 wraps of cocaine, worth £1,840, and £3,955 in cash was recovered.
Halilaj was arrested on 12 June before being charged the following day.
Investigating officer PC Tom Hughes-Parry said: “Sajmir Halilaj was supplying class A drugs across Slough, showing complete disregard for the law and the harm these substances cause in our communities.
“This sentence reflects the seriousness of his actions and sends a clear message that drug dealing will not be tolerated.
“We remain committed to tackling drug supply networks and protecting our communities from the devastating impact of drugs. Information from the public is vital in helping us achieve this.”
