Man jailed for three years for drug offences in Havant

A man has been jailed for three years after officers found drugs and cash during a vehicle stop in Havant.

Officers were patrolling in Havant when they identified a person of interest in a white Citroen Berlingo at the KFC on Park Way.

Officers stopped and spoke to the occupants of the vehicle, who began acting suspiciously.

A vehicle search was subsequently conducted and officers found a quantity of Class A drugs in both the front and rear of the car.

Neil Heath (42) of Byerley Road in Portsmouth, was searched and a small amount of suspected Class A drugs and cash were found on his person.

This prompted a search of Heath’s address, in which officers located drugs of both Class A and B, as well as drug paraphernalia and a large quantity of cash.

Heath was arrested and charged with possessing a controlled drug of Class A with intent to supply, possessing a controlled drug of Class B drug with intent to supply and possessing criminal property.

Heath pleaded guilty to the offences and appeared at Portsmouth Crown Court on Friday 25 July, where he was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
