Man sentenced for class A drug offences – Wokingham
Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced following class A drug offences in Wokingham.
Mohamed Khan, aged 41, of Clifton Road, Wokingham, pleaded guilty to one count each of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, namely heroin and crack cocaine, at Reading Crown Court on 1 December.
Khan was sentenced to four years in prison the following day (2/12) at the same court.
At around 5.50am on 28 October this year, a warrant was executed under Section 8 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act at a property on Clifton Road.
During the search, police recovered two small deal bags containing 1.43g of heroin and one sealed bag containing 12.2g of heroin, with a total street value of £1,200.
A black Samsung A23 mobile was also recovered, which was being used for the drug offences between 1 June and 22 October this year.
Khan was arrested during the warrant, before being charged the following day (29/10).
Investigating officer PC Liam Steele, of the Berkshire West Proactive team, said: “The production and supply of drugs causes harm within our communities and results in the exploitation of vulnerable people.
“As a result of this investigation, we have taken thousands of pounds-worth of drugs off the street.
“Our team will proactively target and prosecute offenders, with both visible and covert activity, aimed at disrupting those involved in the supply of drugs.
“The information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.
