Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a mother and son have been jailed for drug offences in Reading.

Sarah Cooke, aged 55, of Kestrel Way, Reading, and her son, Jamie Cooke, aged 40, of Severn Way, Reading, were jailed for three years and eight months, and five years and seven months, respectively, at Reading Crown Court on Monday (5/1).

On 10 July last year, Thames Valley Police officers discovered class A drugs and a phone which contained mass marketing drugs messages at an address in Kestrel Way.

The defendants were arrested and then charged the following day.

At a previous hearing on 29 September last year, both defendants pleaded guilty to:

• One count of being concerned in the supply of Class A, cocaine;
• One count of being concerned in the supply of Class A, heroin;
• Two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

Investigating officer, PC Liam Steel of the Proactive Team in Reading, said: “Our team proactively targets offenders. We know who you are and we will use both overt and covert tactics to disrupt your drug dealing and arrest you.
