Motiv8 benefit from Community Funding
Fareham Borough Council has awarded Motiv8 South £3,800.57 from its Community Fund, to provide new equipment to support its work with young people and their families in Fareham.
Motiv8 South took over the lease of Broadlaw Community Space in July 2025. Motiv8 build trusting relationships, boost skills, and cultivate inner resilience within young people and their families to enable them to thrive. They anticipate being able to reach around 200 young people a year at this new youth hub, through both open access work and focussed delivery.
The Community Funding will contribute toward new equipment in the venue’s recreation and sensory space, a refreshed kitchen and dining space and as well as new equipment for its ‘Lego Serious Play’ programme – a specialised training tool for youth support workers to improve engagement, communication, and solution-finding with young people.
Executive Member for Leisure and Community at Fareham Borough Council, Cllr Connie Hockley, said: “There are many factors which can lead to young people experiencing instability at home, needing support, or being at increased risk of becoming involved in anti-social behaviour or crime. Motiv8 provides a safe space for young people to relax and chat to support workers as well as take part in fun activities and it is a vital community asset. I am delighted that we are able to support them through this community funding.”
