Murder investigation launched following assault in Enfield

Police were called at 11:07hrs on Thursday, 30 October to reports of a robbery and assault on High Street, Ponders End.

Officers attended and Jalal Khan, aged 76, was found with head injuries. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service in a life-threatening condition.

Sadly, he died in hospital on Wednesday, 19 November. His family are being supported by specialist officers and have asked for privacy at this difficult time.

On Thursday, 6 November, Jaesis Boatswain, 40 (03.09.1985) of Swan Walk, Enfield was charged with grievous bodily harm, assault, robbery and threatening a person with a knife.

He appeared at Highbury Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 6 November where he was remanded into custody. His next court appearance will be at Wood Green Crown Court on Wednesday, 10 December.
