Murder investigation launched following the death of a 71‑year‑old woman in Hounslow

Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Bath Road, Hounslow.

Police were called shortly after 10:00hrs on Sunday, 1 March, to reports of a woman seriously injured at a residential address on Bath Road, Hounslow.

Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics. The 71-year-old woman was found inside the property with significant injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency services, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A crime scene remains in place, and detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command have begun a full investigation. At this early stage, no arrests have been made.

Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Denby who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a woman has lost her life. We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened, and we are keeping an open mind to pursue all lines of inquiry.

“We urge anyone who was in the area of Bath Road, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to come forward. Even small pieces of information can prove vital.”

Extra patrols will be carried out in the local area to provide reassurance to residents.
