Officers appeal to identify man in Southampton assault investigation

Officers investigating an assault in Southampton are looking to speak with him as part of their investigation.

It was reported that, at around 6.15pm on 31 August, a woman was walking a dog with her friend in Shirley Pond Park when she was assaulted by an unknown man.

Whilst walking, another dog approached theirs and did not respond to the owner when called back. When the victim mentioned this to the owner, he pushed her several times causing her to fall down.

He fell with her, landing on her. It was also reported that he made threats, and racially aggravated comments.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

The man is described as being  white, aged between 50 and 60-years-old, around 5ft 8ins tall, with a stocky build. He was bald and wore glasses.
