Serving Thames Valley Police officer charged with sexual assault
Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a serving officer has been charged with sexual assault.
PC George Johnston, aged 27, based at Reading police station, was charged by postal requisition on 11 December last year with one count of assaulting a female aged 13 and over by penetration.
The charge relates to sexual assault of a woman at an address in Woodley, Reading, on 3 November 2024. PC Johnston was off-duty at the time.
The sexual assault was reported to police the same day and Johnston has been suspended since the following day.
Johnston is on conditional court bail and is due to appear at Guildford Crown Court on Monday (9/2).
