Buckinghamshire Council is investing in new school places and facilities to give local families access to high-quality education within their community.

It’s part of work by the council to make sure growing communities on newer developments like Kingsbrook in Aylesbury can benefit from modern, high-quality facilities which support all aspects of community and family life.

Today, an event has taken place to mark the official opening of another new school: Orchard View Primary Academy.

Built with an investment of around £20 million, Orchard View Primary Academy has 420 primary school places, 60 nursery places and a 12-place specialist provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The school opened to pupils in September 2025 and will continue to grow over the coming years as the Kingsbrook community expands.

The new academy is Buckinghamshire’s first Net Zero Carbon in Operation school, designed to operate without fossil fuels and incorporating a range of sustainable features, including solar panels, air source heat pumps and green roofs. These measures help reduce the building’s environmental impact while creating a modern learning environment for pupils.

Orchard View Primary Academy is the third school to be delivered within the Kingsbrook development, alongside Kingsbrook View Primary Academy and The Kingsbrook School. It has been designed to meet the needs of local families now and in the future, with the ability to expand from a two-form to a three-form entry school should demand increase.

Carl Jackson, Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Education & Children’s Services, said:

“Today is a proud moment for everyone involved in bringing Orchard View Primary Academy to life, and for the children and families who will benefit from this fantastic new school.

“As Kingsbrook continues to grow, we are investing in high-quality school places to ensure local children can learn and thrive close to home. Orchard View Primary Academy provides excellent facilities, specialist support for children with additional needs, and a sustainable environment which will serve this community for generations to come.”

Jon Mason, Chief Executive Officer of Inspiring Futures Partnership Trust, added:

“We are delighted to officially open Orchard View Primary Academy and celebrate this achievement with our pupils, staff, families and partners.”

“This wonderful school provides an inspiring learning environment where children can flourish academically, socially and emotionally. We are incredibly proud to be part of the Kingsbrook community and look forward to seeing future generations of pupils learn, grow and succeed here.”

The academy was delivered by Morgan Sindall Construction on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council and is operated by Inspiring Futures Partnership Trust.
