Appeal following assault in Basingstoke
Officers are appealing for information following an assault in Basingstoke.
At around 5.45pm on Friday, June 27 the victim, a 35-year-old man was in the play area on Cordale Road when he was approached by two men and assaulted. During the assault he suffered a cut to his arm, thought to have been caused by a knife, which required stitches.
The victim ran away and into a nearby address.
The two offenders are thought to have been with a larger group of around five people. It is believed they made off back through the park and across the bridge after the incident.
One of the men police want to speak to is described as: black, age 30 to 35, of slim build and with dreadlocks. He was wearing a grey tracksuit top and bottoms with grey Nike trainers. He was also wearing a black balaclava and was riding an e-scooter.
Another of the men is described as: black, of medium build and wearing a black tracksuit. He was riding a pushbike.
Detective Constable Amber Spicer, said: “We know there were a number of people in the area at the time of the incident and we would urge them to come forward, even if they already spoke with officers at the scene. Were you there? Did you see the assault or did you see the offenders or victim in the area prior to or after the incident?
