A Basingstoke drug dealer has been jailed for more than two years after she was caught in possession of 40 wraps of Class A drugs.

Officers stopped Emma Stainthorpe, 45, of Redwood Avenue, in the Rooksdown area on Wednesday 6 August and seized the drugs following a search.

She was arrested after officers carried out two warrants at her home address in March and earlier that day on Wednesday 6 August.

Stainthorpe pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and being concerned in the supply of heroin. She was jailed for 27 months at Winchester Crown Court on Friday 3 October.

PC Susan Petts, from the Basingstoke Priority Crime Team, said: “Emma Stainthorpe was arrested and charged following a long and thorough drugs supply investigation in Basingstoke.

“Officers carried out two warrants at her home address and were able to build up an intelligence picture which ultimately resulted in her being put before the courts.

“I hope this sentence highlights that our officers will do everything in their power to ensure Basingstoke is not targeted by drug dealers.

“We know that drug supply causes harm and misery to our communities and is linked to acquisitive crime, as well as some of the most serious violence we see.

“We are determined to keep relentlessly pursuing criminals to reduce the negative impact they have on the local community, making it safe for everyone.”
