Hook Heath, Hoe Valley and Pyrford Neighbourhood Forums apply for redesignation

Residents and businesses in Hook Heath, Hoe Valley and Pyrford are invited to take part in a consultation regarding the renewal of their neighbourhood forum.

A neighbourhood forum is a community-led group that can be formally designated by the council to create a neighbourhood plan or order for a specific area where there isn’t a town or parish council.

Designation lasts for five years, and the council has received applications for redesignation from Hook Heath, Hoe Valley and Pyrford Neighbourhood Forums.

The applicants must show their forum continues to meet the conditions for designation, which are outlined in the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, and that it is representative of the community.

The council is therefore inviting comments from residents, businesses and other stakeholders, before deciding to redesignate authority to the individual forums.

Cllr Louise Morales, Chair of Woking Borough Council’s Planning Committee, said: “Neighbourhood forums give local residents and businesses greater influence over their local area, particularly with regards to planning. They also play an active role in developing the character of an area by leading on heritage and conservation projects and building community pride.

“If you value your neighbourhood forum and love where you live, it’s important you let the council know.”

The individual consultations all run until Sunday 7 December 2025, and residents are encouraged to submit their comments online using the links below.
