Murder investigation launched after man dies in Camberwell

Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Camberwell.

On Wednesday, 22 April at 18:39hrs, police were notified by the London Ambulance Service about the death of a man at an address in Winterslow Road.

Officers attended alongside paramedics and a 30-year-old man was sadly declared dead, having been found with significant injuries. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

On Thursday, 23 April a 66-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder by officers in Kent. He has been taken into custody.

Superintendent Alan Duncan, who oversees policing in the area, said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones at this very difficult time.

“We have made one arrest and our investigation continues at pace, as we work to establish the full circumstances.

“We would like to ask anyone with relevant information that could help our investigation to come forward.”
