Man arrested and drugs seized after Challenger warrant in Old Trafford

Last Updated: April 23, 2026By

On Wednesday 22 April 2026, officers from Trafford Challenger Unit and Trafford Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant at an address on Norton Street, in Old Trafford, Manchester.

The activity follows a Trafford District investigation into the supply and distribution of Class A and B drugs, including crack cocaine, ecstasy, cannabis, ketamine, and spice.

Intelligence suggested that an organised crime group (OCG) have been involved in drug supply across Old Trafford and nearby areas.

Following the strike, a man in his 60s was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A and B controlled drugs and was taken to hospital for health checks. He remains in hospital under police observations before he will taken into police custody for questioning.

Searches were conducted and several class A and B drugs were recovered, suspected to be crack cocaine and heroin.

Trafford Council’s Community Safety Service will be pursuing the potential closure of the premises at the Magistrates’ Court as a result of the operation in partnership with GMP.

Detective Constable James Atherton from Trafford Challenger Unit said: “The activity has been a success, and we now have a man in custody and have recovered class A and B drugs before they have reached the streets.

“Drugs blight our communities and organised criminals involved in the distribution of drugs exploit vulnerable people and cause harm.

“We will always remain committed to the pursuit of offenders and bringing criminals to justice. We rely on information from the public and I would urge anyone to report it to us.

“If you are concerned about criminal activity in your area, you can report it to police by calling 101 or via the LiveChat function at www.gmp.ploice.uk

“Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
