Two men charged following stabbing in Barking

Two men have been charged after a stabbing in Barking.

Jamario Morgan, 23 (28.10.02) of Dacre Park, Lewisham was charged on Monday, 8 June with attempted murder and possession of a knife.

Arran Bailey, 28 (16.03.98) of Tylecroft Road, Croydon was charged on the same day with attempted murder and battery.

They were remanded in custody and will next appear at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Monday, 6 July.

Police were called at around 23:20hrs on Saturday, 6 June to River Road, Barking to reports of a large fight.

Officers attended the scene with colleagues from the London Ambulance Service. Morgan, Bailey and another man, aged 22, were discovered with injuries.

All three were taken to hospital. The 22-year-old – who had suffered stab injuries – remains there in a critical condition.

Following hospital treatment, Morgan and Bailey were discharged, arrested and later charged.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and information.

Chief Inspector Mo Mahmood, responsible for policing in the area, said: “Our thoughts remain with the critically injured man and his family.

“There are a number of other individuals we believe may have been involved in the incident that preceded the stabbings who are yet to be identified. Because of this, we continue to urge any witnesses to come forward.
