Murder investigation launched after man dies in Bermondsey
A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Bermondsey.
Police were contacted by staff at a London hospital at around 12:30hrs on Wednesday, 10 June after a man was admitted with serious head injuries.
Early enquiries indicated that the 43-year-old man had been assaulted inside a property on Cadbury Way, SE16.
Despite best efforts of medical staff, he sadly died in hospital later that night. His family are aware and continue to receive support from specialist officers.
A murder investigation has been launched with officers remaining in the area to continue enquiries.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, who leads policing for Central South Command said: “Our enquiries are continuing at pace, with our thoughts remaining with the victim’s family.
“We believe this to be an isolated incident within a residential address, and our officers will remain in the area throughout today.
“We will update the community when we can, and I encourage anyone with any information, CCTV or doorbell camera footage which could support the investigation to contact us.”
