Teenager Suffers Injuries After Birmingham City Centre Stabbing

An 18-year-old man remains in hospital after being stabbed in Birmingham city centre on Monday evening.

Emergency services were called to Victoria Square at around 8.30pm on 23 June after the teenager was found with life-threatening injuries.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

Police believe the stabbing occurred following a fight involving two groups in the busy city centre location.

A police cordon remains in place while forensic examinations continue, with detectives reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation.

Detective Superintendent Lucy Kirwan, of Birmingham Police, said: “We know this will cause concern to those living, working and visiting the city centre and we will have an increased presence in the area to offer reassurance.

“The incident happened at a busy time last night, and we know there were a lot of people in the area.
