Victim named in Wimbledon murder investigation

Officers investigating the death of a man in Wimbledon have released his name.

At around 22:55hrs on Thursday, 9 July, police were called to concerns for the welfare of a man at an address on Kingfisher Court, off Queensmere Road, Wimbledon.

No-one was found in the property but after carrying out a search, officers believed someone had come to harm at the address and an investigation was launched.

On Friday, 10 July, officers attended a wooded area in Borstal, Kent where the body of a man was discovered.

He has since been named as 34-year-old Dale Mundell, from Islington. His death is being treated as suspicious, and enquiries remain ongoing.

Dale’s family continue to be supported by specialist officers.

On Friday, 10 July two men were arrested. The next day on Saturday, 11 July, Joshua Miller, 32 (10.09.93) of Kingfisher Court, Wimbledon was charged with murder and preventing a lawful burial and Jamie Cooper, 27 (20.05.99) of the same address was charged with preventing a lawful burial.

They appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 13 July and have been remanded into custody.

The victim and the two men charged were known to each other.
