Council partners with experts to slash overheads for local businesses

A renewed Business Cost Reduction Project has launched to help local firms navigate the rising costs of doing business.

The council has re-appointed the specialists at Place Support Partnership (PSP) to deliver the project from this month onwards.

Following a successful pilot programme, this initiative offers Slough-based businesses free, expert-led support to identify significant savings on essential overheads. The service is designed to empower business owners to make informed financial decisions and protect their bottom lines during a challenging economic climate.

The programme provides comprehensive advice and training across several key areas, including energy, merchant fees, insurance, water, training and more.

Councillor Wal Chahal, leader of the council, said: “I’m pleased to see this initiative continuing so it can reach and help more businesses.

“Slough has a great variety of businesses which are very important to our economy. I urge them to find out what support is available, to see how their business can benefit.”

The partnership will see PSP advisors engaging directly with the Slough business community through a dedicated outreach programme, ensuring even the smallest independent shops can access high-level procurement expertise.

Rishi Sood, CEO of Place Support Partnership (PSP), said: “We are delighted to continue our collaboration with Slough Borough Council. During the pilot phase, we saw firsthand the resilience of Slough’s business owners, and we are eager to help even more businesses unlock hidden savings.

“Our goal is simple: to demystify the complex utility and service markets, ensuring every local business gets the best possible value for their money.”

Business owners in Slough are encouraged to contact PSP to check eligibility and begin their free cost-reduction assessment using the following details.
