Visitors to The D-Day Story can now see a selection of original props from the new D-Day film Pressure, in cinemas September 9, on display at the museum until the end of December.

The film, produced by STUDIOCANAL and Working Title (Darkest Hour), stars Andrew Scott as Group Captain James Stagg and Brendan Fraser as General Dwight D. Eisenhower and tells the dramatic true story of the crucial weather forecast that helped determine when the Allied invasion of Normandy would take place. Set during the tense days leading up to 6 June 1944, Pressure highlights the immense responsibility faced by military leaders and meteorologists as they weighed up whether conditions were suitable for launching the largest amphibious invasion in history.

The D-Day Story has received a collection of props used during the production, allowing visitors to explore the real-life events behind the film. Items on display include a Fortitude deception plan, Krick’s identification card and Stagg’s identification card.

The temporary display offers a unique opportunity to connect the cinematic retelling of these events with the museum’s extensive collection, which explores the planning, preparation and execution of D-Day.

The display complements the museum’s exhibitions exploring the leadership, planning and military operations behind D-Day.

As the UK’s only museum dedicated to D-Day, The D-Day Story continues to play an important role in preserving and sharing this history with residents and visitors alike.”

The Pressure film props will be on display at The D-Day Story until December 2026 and are included in the normal museum admission.

Pressure is in cinemas 9 September.
